1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament
On Tuesday, July 28th, the Brighton and District Chamber of Commerce
held its inaugural Charity Golf Tournament at Timber Ridge Golf
and Country Club. It was an outstanding success! We want to sincerely
thank everyone who joined us this year, especially the players
and sponsors!
The day began with a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Participants
registering were given Brighton bags filled with small gifts. Some
golfers took advantage of practicing on the putting green or the
driving range. Cool FM was on hand to welcome all. Everyone
enjoyed the picturesque 18 hole course and took advantage of a
putting contest between the 1st and the 10th hole. At nine o’clock,
the teams were distributed amongst the 18 holes and play began.
Timber Ridge provided a delicious BBQ lunch. We had some interesting
door prizes and draw prizes. Theo, the chair of the organizing
committee, gave a big thank you to all of the sponsors and to
those who donated prizes. He also commended Timber Ridge for
running an excellent tournament. The Chamber and the golf
participants raised over $5,000 for the Brighton Children’s Centre.
For a first year event, this was quite an accomplishment.
