3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Thanks to all of you that participated in the 3rd Annual Brighton & District Chamber of Commerce Charity Golf Tournamentto Which washeld on Tuesday July 12th 2011.

This year we are supporting Brighton Community Policing, a non-profit community organization staffed entirely with volunteers. Brighton Community Policing conducts many activities throughout the community designed to make ours a healthier, safer and more secure place.

Brighton Community Policing supports and conducts a number of youth-targeted programs including: D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Program), a drug awareness program delivered annually to Grade 6 students in our Public Schools that teaches "how to say no"; a monthly Youth-Night dance for students in Grades 7 to 10 that provides a regular, healthy and fun social event that also helps build positive relationships between young people and local law enforcement; bicycle rodeos at local schools that teach road safety to children as they expand their territory to the community at large.

Community Policing is an important contributor to the healthy fabric of Brighton and District Community. We are pleased that our funding support will help them continue their valuable and supportive programs.
